Germany’s Third Voluntary National Review (VNR) to the HLPF 2025

    Social mobilisation and participation Dialogue group

    A dialogue group was formed in 2018 to give different parts of society a say in preparing meetings of the State Secretaries’ Committee for Sustainable Development. Members of the dialogue group, such as the German League for Nature Protection (DNR) and the German Farmers’ Association, take part in expert discussions with the ministries, for example at the meetings to prepare the seven transformation reports.

    The current dialogue group was convened on 1 January 2024 and has 15 members:

    2. German League for Nature Protection (DNR)
    3. World Wide Fund for Nature
    4. Federation of German Industries (BDI)
    5. Confederation of German Employers’ Associations
    6. German Environmental Management Association
    7. German Farmers’ Association
    8. German Trade Union Confederation
    9. Federation of German Consumer Organisations
    10. Commissariat of German Bishops / Protestant Church in Germany
    11. German Federal Youth Council
    12. VENRO, the umbrella organisation of development and humanitarian non-governmental organisations in Germany
    13. German Forum on Environment and Development
    14. Germanwatch
    15. Sustainable Development Solutions Network

    Depending on the topic of the meeting, up to five other organisations or institutions of particular relevance to the focal theme of the meeting may also be invited.
