Since its establishment in 2020, the Generation Equality Forum (External link) is the central multi-stakeholder partnership for the fifth Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 5) – Achieve gender equality.

Within the Forum coordinated by UN Women, Germany has adopted a lead role in the “Economic justice and rights” Action Coalition and has made commitments in the “Bodily autonomy and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR)” and “Gender-based violence” Action Coalitions.

The Global Alliance for Care (External link) is a joint contribution of the “Economic justice and rights” Action Coalition. Germany became a member of the Global Alliance in mid-2021. Within the Alliance, some 250 members representing governments, civil society, the private sector, philanthropy, international organisations and academia and research strive for a transformation of care work.
